3 Suits to Impress at Events

Are you attending a Wedding? Do you frequent events? Or do you prefer less formal sartorial styles? If you've answered yes to any of those, here are some styles you may like to explore or build-on for your next suit.

(For work-appropriate suits, have a look at this list: 3 Suits for the Professional)

1. Double Breasted Suit in White Wool Silk Linen Fabric (Silk Air)

Events nowadays, events have been lessened and follow certain restrictions. Due to the latter, gatherings such as weddings tend to be outdoor so we recommend casual suits. This means lighter colors and fabrics, which are more breathable, lightweight, and have a festive aura. This suit follows that same recommendation.

Here, a we use a wool silk linen blend from Loro Piana's Sprint Summer collection along with a 6x1 Double Breasted jacket. While a single breasted suit would work well with the fabric selection and button selection, we wanted to elevate the overall feel of the suit. Although this jacket style tends to lean toward the formal side, it is safe to consider the entire suit as "casual" as it is toned down by the aforementioned elements.

We recommend this type of suit for event celebrants and guests of honor. While it is casual, it still makes quite a big statement.

If you would like to mix this up, we'd recommend looking into oatmeal and cream colors, or a pure linen suit. Feel free to consult with our fitting specialist for a list of available fabrics.

2. Two-piece Brown Wool Silk Linen

Following the trend of outdoor events, this next suit is equally appropriate but slightly laid-back. This brown wool silk linen suit features notch lapels and patch pockets, as opposed to the peak lapels and flap pockets in the white double breasted suit. These elements make the suit more casual, less loud.

This suit is perfect for all attendants/participants at any event, so long as it still fits the theme.

3. Tuxedo

We still do get inquiries for suits that are appropriate indoors. The previously recommended suits may also work, especially when the fabric used is pure worsted wool, but we would also like to present something that is black-tie appropriate: Our Tuxedo

Our tuxedo, like most of our suits, like to emphasize the masculine silhouette through our signature house cut. Contrary to most tuxedos that use shawl lapels with added sheen, we recommend using semi-wide peak lapels to further emphasize the chest. There is very minimal glamour in this tuxedo, but it is a classic look with a distinctly masculine silhouette that can capture the eye of any man or woman who is keen on design.

Are there more suits you'd like to see? Let us know in the comments section or have our fitting specialist show you more at the haberdashery. Each consultation is private and by appointment only. You may book here or reach us by phone (+639178124193). Have a great day.
